DigiFabster's AI Agent reads directly from your RFQ email inbox, extracts CAD, requirements, shipping, materials, etc., and automatically processes it, preparing ready-to-use quotes.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Using the AI Quote Agent

1. Activate the AI Quote Agent

  • The agent reads all email messages you send to the unique email address connected to your account. You can find this receiving email address in your account under Settings > Next-Gen Settings;

  • You can either send the quotes you want to be analyzed to this address or set up forwarding from your existing email address. In the latter case, once you add forwarding from your inbox, please reach out to the DigiFabster support team and provide your target address. We will then confirm it for you.

2. Testing the AI Quote Agent

  • Send a test email to the forwarding address with the following details:

    • Subject: RFQ or relevant project details.

    • Attachment: Include a 3D model file (e.g., .stl or .step).

    • Content: Specify the material (e.g., Aluminum 6061) and quantity (e.g., 10 pieces).

3. Draft Creation

  • Wait a few minutes. The system will process the email and generate a draft RFQ, visible in your drafts list.

4. Review the Draft

  • Open the draft. It will include a proposal (e.g., "10 pieces in Aluminum 6061").

  • Verify the original RFQ details under the "Original RFQ Text" section to ensure accuracy.

5. Edit the Draft

  • If corrections are needed:

    • Click "Continue this Draft" to access the Instant Quote Tool (IQT).

    • Modify the specs as required.

6. Complete and Send the Quote

  • Go to "Add Order Details":

    • Choose "Local Pickup" if no address is provided.

    • Add a placeholder phone number if necessary.

    • Click "Send Offer" to finalize and send the quote.

Handling More Complex RFQs

Multiple Parts and Materials

  • Test emails containing multiple attachments and materials will auto-link descriptors to files (e.g., "Marvin" links to 20140205_Marvin_KeyChain.STL).

  • Use the "Edit Product" option to access the IQT and adjust details.

  • Note: The parser does not currently process PDFs/drawings.

Troubleshooting

  • Draft Not Created:

    • Ensure the email includes a subject and valid file attachments.

    • Confirm supported file formats (e.g., .stl, .step).

  • Incorrect Material Settings:

    • Double-check material configurations in your admin settings to avoid defaulting to Aluminum 6061.

  • Duplicate Offers:

    • If duplicate offers are sent, verify draft settings and contact support if the issue persists.

DigiFabster's AI Quote Agent streamlines quoting, reduces manual work, and enables faster responses to RFQs. While it cannot yet process PDFs, continuous updates aim to enhance its capabilities.
